SSMLT Bylaws

The SSMLT council makes bylaws in accordance with the MLT Act s.13.

Regulatory bylaws - MLT Act s. 14(2)- include regulatory requirements such as:

-  registration requirements (categories of registration, requirements for registration, renewal requirements, practice standards)
-  statutory committees, complaints management framework.
-  general items (review of decisions, special meetings, coming into force)

Regulatory bylaws are created by council and submitted to ministry for approval.

Administrative bylaws - MLT Act s. 14(1) - include a framework for  SSMLT business operations.  
Includes: financial requirements, Council appointment procedures, term of office, duties of council, meeting requirements, standing committees and terms, and fees charged by SSMLT.
