Temporary Practicing Members- Working under Supervision

Classification

Temporary licenses may be issued for a limited time-frame to work under supervision of a licensed MLT. Applicants for temporary membership that are not CSMLS certified must submit evidence of eligibility to write the CSMLS examination and evidence of registration for CSMLS examination that includes applicant name, CSMLS number and examination date.

Temporary Practicing Members may be:

New Graduates

New graduates that have completed a Canadian Accredited Medical Laboratory education program and are eligible and registered to write the Canadian Certification exam or have written the Canadian Certification exam but have not received results.

International Educated MLT

Internationally Educated MLT that has completed the Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) from the CSMLS and;

  • Are CSMLS certified with CSMLS but do not have possess the required Continuing Professional Education and/or Practice Hours required for a practicing license or;
  • Have written the Canadian Certification exam but have not received results or;
  • Are eligible and registered to write the Canadian Certification exam

Former Practicing MLT

Members that do not possess the required Continuing Professional Education and/or Practice Hours required for a practicing license, may be eligible for a Temporary licence for a limited timeframe. Contact SSMLT office for instructions. info@ssmlt.org
